Commissioner Romano advocates for seniors, homeless shelter, and support various community organizations. They are involved in several community organizations such as Elks Lodge, Rotary Club, and NAACP, and they sponsor Little League and Girls Baseball teams.
With a 32-year career in the Hoboken Police Department, Commissioner Romano has worked towards community policing, and public safety, and advocated for park safety and ethics training. He has also helped turn the Hudson County Correctional Center into a rehabilitation center and served on the executive board of the Fraternal Order of Police and 200 Club.
Commissioner Romano has championed a successful road resurfacing program, secured funding for local cultural institutions and parks, supported minority and women entrepreneurs, advocated for safer streets with the Vision Zero Plan, and worked to keep local hospitals open.
